Just a quick note to tell you that if you tried to access your web sites during Wednesday the 28th at about 2pm you would have experienced about 10 minutes of disruption. The server was having an upgrade and although it should have been seamless and unnoticeable the team decided to reboot it. Sorry for the disruption - we would have usually done this in at about 4am in the morning but the server team is located in Hong Kong and they were going to the cinema!
We are about to launch inerskine.org.uk..... late! The network has sucked up our time and of course, you guys come first!
We spotted an attempt to gain access to our server from an
unauthorised external source. The perpetrator accessed and changed a file. The
file was a calling card which replaced a web page file.
Our team spotted
this and working closely with our support teams we were able to block and remove
the files.
More than likely you did not see anything but we believe that
our customers should be kept informed of any problems that occur and how we fix
them.
No one can guarantee anything but we work hard to ensure that your
online experience is as we say "Websites without tears!"
As things begin to pick up pace, we would like to welcome some new people to our teams:
InRenfrewshire.com is now being managed by Kieth Masters. keithmasters@inrenfrewshire.com. Keith has been with us for 3 months and is enthusiastic about the development and use of InRenfrewshire.com and the services it offers.
Bob Reynolds, currently Business Support Manager for InRenfrewshire.com will also be looking after our VisitRenfrewshire.com operation. We would really like to get the local leisure industry online and Bob's business background should help us achieve this.
New Staff We are looking for new staff on a voluntary basis. Keith was house bound and is keen to extend an invitation to anyone in a similiar situation get involved in the project, technical skills are not needed, as a rule of thumb, if your reading this you have all the skills we need! Oh, if you have a camera we want your shots, join the photo ... >>full...
We got asked this question by email, however, we thought it would be more prudent to post it here.
How many web sites are you producing per week? Hard to quantify that, we can spend a week on one web site and a day on another. I'm not trying to avoid the question but if it helps, we have two customer sites in production nearly at soft launch stage and we have two network sites being made ready for launch shortly, namely, www.inerskine.org.uk and www.explorerenfrewshire.com, the former is running over it's allocated time scales. VisitRenfrewshire.com, InRenfrewshire.com, HelpingYou.org.uk and InBishopton.org.uk, gets updated every day and this site does too! There are support pages hidden on the site that we refer customers too when they need help.
We have had 8 sites in production in the one week, but we have a team more than able to cope with that, support usually takes up most of ... >>full...
We are now launching our Renfrewshire Digital Footprint project.
This is where we help a sector at a time to get "digital". As always anyone can request a free web site with the inrenfrewshire.com web site address, i.e. if you were called Castle Guest House you would be offered, castleguesthouse.inrenfrewshire.com ..... "Castle Guest House in Renfrewshire"
However, for search engines, and good business practice, you should have your own web site address.
So to anyone in the Leisure, Entertainment or Tourist industry then we will provide our hosting package for the price of the domain name, that's free web site and hosting.
The free option is still available too, they can upgrade at any time! Free doesn't mean cheap, we value the service and support we give our customers.
If you have any questions please let us know or if you know anyone in this field let them know!
